Spectacular Fireworks and Round 2 of the Victory Lap Late Model $25,000 Challenge highlight the action this Friday Night July 4th
Jamaica, VA – Looking for some affordable excitement close to home this summer, well Virginia Motor Speedway has just what you are looking for this weekend as Fireworks and big time stock car racing will wow fans of all ages. A huge weekend is in store as we celebrate America with Round 2 of the Victory Lap Late Model $25,000 Challenge presented by BB&T and a huge fireworks display sponsored by JEFCO, Inc.
Round 2 of the Victory Lap Late Model $25,000 Challenge presented by BB&T will see Walker Arthur attempting to continue his quest towards a $25,000 bonus. There are plenty of driver’s that would like to spoil his party and give themselves a chance at a big bonus as well setting this event up to be one for the ages. The four race series offers a bonus program for multiple wins. The Series will once again pay a $5,000 bonus to anyone who can win two of the four events with it going to $15,000 if a driver wins three of four events. And finally, Arthur is the only driver with a chance to pick up a cool $25,000 bonus for sweeping the four race series. In the series five year existence the $25,000 bonus has never been paid. The last two years the series has seen four different winners.
Also in action will be the Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Limited Stock divisions.
The speedway’s fireworks shows are always spectacular and are sure to please the whole family. It’s an “All American” celebration Friday July 4th!

Competitor gates for Friday, July 4th will open at 4pm with spectator gates opening at 5pm. On track activities will begin at 7pm with hot laps. Divisions scheduled to race on Friday July 4th: Victory Lap Late Models (40 Laps); Truckin Thunder Sportsman (25 Laps); Budweiser Modifieds (25 Laps); and the VMS Limited Stocks (20 Laps). All divisions will run Hot Lap Time Trials and Features.
Adult admission is just $12, Senior and Military $10, Students 13 –17 yrs old $7, Children 7 – 12 yrs old $4 and Children 6 and under free. The Speedway offers a Family Pack for two adults and two children 12 and under for only $24. Also check our website for discount coupons.
Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway, an ASA Member Track affiliate, is a ½ mile dirt oval track is located on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA in Jamaica, VA. The speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland and the Hampton Roads area.
