Condolences go out to the Childress Family

Jamaica, VA – The staff of Virginia Motor Speedway would like to send out our condolences to the Childress family as we morn the loss of one of our racing family and the Childress family patriarch. Taz Childress, a former competitor and car owner at VMS, passed away in his sleep yesterday after complications from an injury. Taz was the father of Wes and Johnny Childress and the grandfather of Stephen Childress. Please keep the Childress family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time. The family will receive visitors at the B.W. White Funeral Home in Aylett, VA from 2-4pm and 6-8pm today February 19th. Services will be at Beulah Baptist Church on West River Rd in Aylett, VA tomorrow Saturday February 20th at 11am.
