Speedway adds Fastrak Pro Late Model division to 2013 Lineup

Jamaica, VA – With the focus being squarely on growing weekly racing for the 2013 season officials at Virginia Motor Speedway are pleased to announce that the Fastrak Pro Late Models have been added to the Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series lineup for the upcoming season. The new division will join the Victory Lap Late Models, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modifieds and the Collision One Limited Stock divisions in action each week. “Stan Lester and his staff at Fastrak have developed a proven and track tested product that we feel will enhance our racing at Virginia Motor Speedway and also give competitors a cost effective way to go late model racing,” commented Track owner Bill Sawyer. For 2013 the Pro (Crate) Late Models will compete in a race within a race as they will be paired with the tracks very successful Victory Lap Late Model division. Both divisions will race at the same time with there being a Late Model and Crate Late Model winner each week. As an added bonus the crate late model competitors will receive both late model and crate late model points to go towards the 2013 championships. The speedway is currently working on a division sponsor and point fund for the new division. The speedway’s Pro (Crate) Late Model competitors will benefit from Fastrak sanctioning as they will compete under a proven and cost effective set of rules. By sanctioning the Pro (Crate) Late Models competitors will also have a chance to compete for the Fastrak Weekly Regional Championship and also get the opportunity to race at other Fastrak weekly tracks and in Fastrak regional touring series events on off weeks as well as qualify for the end of year World Championship / World Challenge events. “I can’t say how happy I am to have Virginia Motor Speedway sign on as our newest Fastrak Pro Late Model sanctioned track, the facility is one of the finest in the country and I look forward to building on the tremendous relationship we have with the speedway forged through our Ultimate Super Late Model Series,” commented Fastrak Companies International owner and founder Stan Lester. More details are forthcoming and all potential Fastrak competitors are encouraged to visit the Fastrak website (www.fastrakracing.com) for the 2013 rules package.
