4wide practice 600Jamaica, VA – The best Pro Late Model drivers in the country converged on Virginia Motor Speedway for the kick-off of the $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship presented by Safety-Kleen. With the biggest field of the year on hand just to practice on the ½ mile speed plant, the excitement level is at a fever pitch.

“The Super Bowl of PRO Late Model Racing” will pay out over $150,000+ in the two days of racing with a cool $20,000 going to the winner. Teams from Indiana, New York, West Virginia, Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio and Kentucky are about to undertake the most exciting race of their career.

Night one consisted of an open practice for the fifty-two competitors on hand and went extremely well and smooth. The majority of the FASTRAK competitors used the time to shake down their cars and to figure out the unique configuration of the immaculate facility.

“I am thrilled with the turnout for a Thursday to kick things off for FASTRAK’S first visit to Jamaica, VA,” exclaimed FASTRAK Founder Stan Lester. “Just seeing the eyes and reaction of the FASTRAK competitors, families and crews in “awe” of how magnificent Virginia Motor Speedway is was worth it to me, car count is fantastic for mid-week and will continue to get larger before we crown someone the 2014 Fastrak World Champion,” concluded Lester.

FASTRAK and Virginia Motor Speedway officials were thrilled with how practice went. The cars picked up speeds and got “faster and faster” as the night went on. An unofficial track record was run during practice and has everyone hyped about Friday’s qualifying and heat races.

Friday October 3 racing will include hot laps, qualifying and heats for the Fastrak Pro Late Model competitors and also feature a $1000 to win “winner take all” King of the Hill race.

Friday October 3rd admission prices will be: Adults – $15, Seniors (60+) / Military – $12, Students (13-17) – $10 and Children 12 and under free with paying adult.

Competitor gates will open at 3pm with spectator gates opening at 6pm. On track action will begin at 7pm with hot laps.
