2015 champions 950x450Jamaica, VA – Bill Sawyers Virginia Motor Speedway officially wrapped up the 2015 season by recognizing the top ten in each of the track’s divisions with special attention reserved for the 2015 champions. During the night’s events almost $39,000 in cash and prizes were awarded, of that almost $32,000 was in cash.

Justin Williams of Concord, VA was crowned the 2015 Victory Lap Late Model Champion for the third year in a row and received a check for $5,000 for his efforts. Williams also received a $500 certificate from the Joie of Seating, a custom calendar from Al Goulder Photography, his Championship helmet trophy and his Champions jacket from Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic. Williams became only the third driver to win 3 titles in a row.

Tyler Bare of Rockbridge Baths, VA was crowned the Aaron’s Pro Late Model Champion. Bare became the tracks first ever third generation driver to win a championship at the speedway. The young Bare joins his grandfather Tommy Bare (Late Model – 1980) and father Booper Bare (Super Late Models – 2003, 2004) in winning tracks titles at the ½ mile facility. Bare received a check for $1,000, a $500 certificate from the Joie of Seating, a custom calendar from Al Goulder Photography, his Championship helmet trophy, his Champions jacket from Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic and a 40” HD / Blueray combo television from sponsor Aaron’s.

Chad Beahr of Mechanicsville, VA was crowned the 2015 Truckin Thunder Sportsman Champion and received a check for $1,000 for his efforts. Beahrs also received a $500 certificate from the Joie of Seating, a custom calendar from Al Goulder Photography, his Championship helmet trophy and his Champions jacket from Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic.

Matt Quade of Mechanicsville, MD was crowned the 2015 Budweiser Modified Champion, his second championship in a row. Quade received a check for $1,000, a $500 certificate from the Joie of Seating, a custom calendar from Al Goulder Photography, his Championship helmet trophy and his Champions jacket from Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic.

dirt series champion 800x800Ryan Hutchens of Providence Forge, VA won the Collision One Limited Stock Car Championship. It was his career first championship. Hutchens received a check for $700, a $500 certificate from the Joie of Seating, a custom calendar from Al Goulder Photography his Championship helmet trophy and his Champions jacket from Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic.

The speedway also crowns an overall VMS Dirt Series Champion which pits all five divisions against each other. Ryan Hutchens became the first ever Collision One Limited Stock Car driver to ever win the overall Championship and received a $2000 check and the special eagle trophy that goes along with winning the title.

Special achievement award winners for the 2015 season included: The Pitts Lumber Rookies of the Year were Darrell Dow of Chesapeake, VA in Victory Lap Late Models; Brett Adkins of Gloucester, VA in the Aaron’s Pro Late Model division; Kevin Beahr of Mechanicsville, VA in Truckin Thunder Sportsman; Hunter McClendon of Williamsburg, VA in Budweiser Modifieds and Cory Bradley of Hopewell, VA in the Collision One Limited Stock Car division. Each winner received a plaque and $250.
