Jamaica, VA – Pro Late Model racing’s richest weekend is almost here. The much anticipated FASTRAK World Championship weekend is set for Friday and Saturday October 5 – 6, 2018 at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, VA. After having to postpone the mega event due to Hurricane Florence, track officials are now once again busy preparing the facilities for what is expected to be another record car count. The weekend will put the spotlight squarely on the country’s best Pro Late Model drivers. This mega race will pay the winner a cool $20,000. With a total payout over $80,000, it is the richest weekend in all of Pro Late Model racing. The weekend kicks off with Friday’s FASTRAK World Challenge presented by WhosYourDriver.org, a member only $5,000 to win, 40 lap race. Members are required to have competed in at least seven FASTRAK sanctioned events during the 2018 season. The following night is the FASTRAK World Championship presented by James River Equipment, a $20,000 to win 60 lap feature event that is open to all Pro Late Model competitors. In the event of rain, Sunday September 16th is currently scheduled as the rain date. Admission prices for Friday’s World Challenge event are adults $15, senior and military $12, students (11-17) $10 and children 10 and under free. Admission for Saturday’s FASTRAK World Championship are adults $35, senior and military $25, students (11-17) $15 and children 10 and under free. 14th ANNUAL RUN-A-MUCK MUD BOG SET FOR SATURDAY OCTOBER 13TH

Jamaica, VA – To say that officials of The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway are anxiously awaiting the running of the 14th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment and WhosYourDriver.org would be an understatement. With the spring mud bog rained out officials, fans and competitors alike are all ready for some of the best mud bogging on the East Coast. There will be eleven classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from super stock to unlimited with cash payouts in all classes. Competitors are encouraged to visit www.thepitatvms.com for the rules packages and payouts. The Unlimited X Tractor and Obstacle X divisions will once again run a short course for time. Plans are to make a few changes to the course before October 13th. Not only will fans get to see hordes of trucks splashing through the 200 foot Mud Bog pit but they will also get the opportunity to see some of the regions best Mud Dragsters covering the 200 foot Mud Sling pit in under three seconds. The event will also include a car crushing monster truck freestyle show and is sure to be a hit with adults and kids alike. Gates and registration will open at 9am with single eliminations for Super Stock A, B; Modified A (Small tire), B (Big Tire), Unlimited Bog, Unlimited X Tractor, Pro Modified A, Pro Modified B and X, XX classes beginning at 12 noon. Hurricane Florence Forces Postponement of this Weekend’s FASTRAK World Championship to October 5 – 6

Jamaica, VA – Officials of both Virginia Motor Speedway and FASTRAK Racing have made the decision to postpone this weekend’s FASTRAK World Championship to Friday and Saturday October 5 – 6, 2018 due to Hurricane Florence that is anticipated to hit the East Coast later this week. “With Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina declaring States of Emergencies due to the impending hurricane expected to hit the East Coast later this week we have made the decision to postpone the weekend’s FASTRAK World Championship so that our fans and competitors can make the necessary preparations to be ready for Florence,” commented Owner Bill Sawyer. Sawyer added, “you always hate to postpone an event but the safety of our fans, competitors and staff is much more important.” FASTRAK General Manager DJ Irvine stated, “With the impending hurricane we, along with Virginia Motor Speedway, feel that this is the absolute best decision for our teams, fans, and staff. Ultimately, we want everyone to stay safe. We are still looking forward to the FASTRAK World Championship.” With the postponement officials have decided to extend the pre-registration deadline till Friday September 28th, allowing teams the chance to save up to $95 in registration fees. Davis Lipscombe Scores Victory Lap Pro Late Model Victory; Matt Quade Crowned 2018 Champion

Jamaica, VA – After what has been a tough season for Davis Lipscombe of Mechanicsville, VA he was able to end the season on a high note with a dominating win in the Victory Lap Pro Late Model feature on Northern Neck Chevrolet championship Night. Lipscombe and Dustin Ferguson of Appomattox, VA battled side by side for much of the first 11 laps before Lipscombe muscled his way to the lead on lap 12 and then drove away for the field for the win. “The car has been fast all year long, but the driver has not always been at his best. This win gives us a lot of confidence going into the FASTRAK World Championship weekend,” commented Lipscombe in WhosYourDriver.org victory lane. Rounding out the top five were Corey Almond, Dustin Ferguson, Matt Quade and Brad Rigdon. Matt Quade of Mechanicsville, MD was crowned the 2018 Victory Lap Pro Late Model Champion after wheeling his ride to a fourth place finish. Tyler Shipp of Mechanicsville, VA took the lead on the opening lap of the Truckin Thunder Sportsman feature and went on to score his second win of the season in dominating fashion. With Shipp controlling the top spot Mark Gonzales and Matt Meads battle for the entire 30 lap feature for the runner up spot with Gonzales taking it for the final time on lap 21. Rounding out the top five were Gonzales, Meads, Tim Shelton and Joe Weiss. Tim Shelton of Fredericksburg, VA was crowned the 2018 Truckin Thunder Sportsman Champion with his fourth place finish. In the Budweiser Modified feature James Sparks of Hollywood, MD jumped out to the lead on the drop of the green flag and paced the field until lap 8 when he hit the front stretch wall and came to a stop with a flat left rear tire. That handed the lead over to Joey Polevoy who went on to a full straight win with Chase Butler, Lance Grady, J.D. Eversole and Ryan Toole rounding out the top five. Division point leader Hunter McClendon of Williamsburg, VA had to park his car on lap 3 with a broken rear end and it looked as if his chances of a championship where over but his lead heading into the night was just enough to be crowned the 2018 Budweiser Modified Champion by two points over rookie Chase Butler of Mechanicsville, VA. James Givens of Henrico, VA has been dominant all year long in the Collision One Limited Stock Car division. In tonight’s feature it took him 15 laps to works his way to the front from his eighth place starting position and take the lead from Chad Champion. Over the final 10 laps Givens had to hold off multiple challenges from Trent Clemans for the lead. Coming to the white the two were side-by-side for the lead. On the final lap Clemans car pushed in turn 2 and that was all Givens needed to record his sixth win of the season and take home the 2018 Collision One Limited Stock Car Championship. Rounding out the top five Clemans, Cory Bradley, Mark Schools and Randy Hutchens. The Speedway will take next week off and will return to racing Friday and Saturday September 14 & 15 for the FASTRAK World Championship weekend. Friday September 14 the speedway will host a $5000 to win FASTRAK members only event and then on Saturday September 15th for the $20,000 to win FASTRAK World Championship that is open to any crate late model competitor. Speedway to Host Northern Neck Chevrolet Championship Night this Saturday September 1st

Jamaica, VA – The speedway will return to racing Saturday September 1, 2018 to host Neck Chevrolet Championship Night and the final week of Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship Weekly Racing season featuring the Victory Lap Pro Late Models, Budweiser Modifieds, Truckin Thunder Sportsman and Collision One Limited Stock Cars in action. The speedway will crown its 2018 Champions with one final race for each division. All the Championships are up for grabs and should make for some exciting racing. Admission: Adults $12, seniors (60+) $10; military (active/retired w/ proper I.D.) $8, students 11 – 17 years old $6 and children 10 and under admitted free. Pit passes will be $20. To enhance the fans racing experience the speedway has installed a short wave FM transmitter and all of the evening’s action can be heard at 95.5 FM. So, bring your portable radio headset and enjoy hearing all the action. Brett Adkins and Matt Quade Score Emotional Victories; McClendon and Givens also grab wins.

Jamaica, VA – On an emotional night where the racing community rallied around the Adkins family after losing their five-year old son Camden two weeks earlier got a fairy tale ending with Brett Adkins of Saluda, VA parking it in WhosYourDriver.org victory lane scoring an emotional win over Tim Shelton of Fredericksburg, VA. Adkins would pass Shelton for the lead on lap 24 after Shelton jumped the cushion in turn 2. Adkins would hold off several late challenges for the lead to score the victory to the delight and cheers of the big crowd in attendance. “I really don’t know what to say, a couple weeks ago my life took a bad corner, I can’t thank all of you enough for being behind me and my family, it has helped make the situation a little easier and help me get to today,” commented a very emotional Adkins in WhosYourDriver.org victory lane. Rounding out the top five were Shelton, Matt meads, Taylor Doggett and Mark Gonzales. In the exciting Victory Lap Pro Lap Pro Late Model feature Matt Quade of Mechanicsville, MD held off Davis Lipscombe of Mechanicsville, VA and fast qualifier Logan Roberson of Waynesboro, VA to claim his second win of the season. Quade dedicated the win to his Grandfather, who is currently in hospice. “We have been busting our butts off, and we have the car going good and I can’t thank everyone enough. This one is for my grandfather, wish he could be here right now because he would love this,” commented an emotional Quade in WhosYourDriver.org victory lane. Rounding out the top five were Lipscombe, Roberson, Matt Glanden and Brad Rigdon. In other action Hunter McClendon of Williamsburg, VA got past Bret Hamilton of Powhatan, VA on lap 20 of the Budweiser Modified feature to score his third win of the season and in the Collision One Limited Stock Car division James Givens of Henrico, VA claimed his fifth win of the season after a spirited battle with Trent Clemans of Mechanicsville, VA. In the Victory Lap Pro Late Model feature, Tyler Bare and Matt Quade led the 18 car field to green. Quade would get a good run off of turn two to lead the first circuit. The races first caution would fly on lap two for a slowing Bare. On the restart Quade and Logan Roberson would begin a side-by-side battle that lasted for most of the 35 laps feature. With Roberson working the cushion and Quade in the middle groove the two would come to the finish line separated by inches. On lap 20 Roberson jumped the cushion in turn 2 and Lipscombe took advantage to grab the second spot. With Quade only inches in front of the battle for second, the fans were on their feet as the three drivers put on a show. Quade would hold to take the win followed by Lipscombe, Roberson, Matt Glanden and Brad Rigdon. Charlie Hubbard and Bret Hamilton led the Budweiser Modified field to green with Hamilton taking control of the race out of turn 2. The races first caution would fly on lap 2 for a slowing Ryan Toole. On the restart Hamilton jumped out to a three-car length advantage over Hunter McClendon. That advantage would quickly be erased as the two began working through lapped traffic. On lap 11 Hamilton got caught behind a lapped car allowing McClendon to get to his inside and grab the lead. Once out front McClendon pulled away from Hamilton, Josh Harris and Chris Arnold battling for second as he went on to collect his third win of the season. Hamilton Harris, Arnold and Charlie Hubbard rounded out the top five. In the Collision One Limited Stock feature Chad champion and Trent Clemans led the field to green with the battle for the lead going three wide as they barreled into turn 1. Clemans would come out of turn 2 with the lead followed by Chad Champion and Cory Bradley. On lap 10 Champion and Bradley would get together in turn 4 to bring out the races second caution, which put James Givens on second. The two leaders would battle side by side for the next 10 laps until Clemans would lose a left rear tire turn 1 while racing side by side with Givens. Givens would go on to collect his fifth win of the season. Raymond Harper, David bowler, Chad Champion and Brandon Bowler would round out the top five. The last race of the night, the 30 lap Truckin thunder Sportsman feature, capped off a storied night of racing with Brett Adkins taking home a very emotional victory over Tim Shelton. Brett Adkins and Tim Shelton led the 23 car field to green with Shelton powering to the lead on the outside with Adkins following in second. While the two leaders pulled away from the field the battle for third was intense between Matt Meads, Taylor Doggett and Mark Gonzales. Much of the remaining laps the three battled three wide for the position. With the laps winding down, Adkins began reeling in the leader. On lap 24 Shelton would jump the cushion in turn 2 while Adkins darted to his inside for the lead. Adkins would hold off several challenges from Shelton to take home the win. The Speedway will return to racing next Saturday September 1st and host Northern Neck Chevrolet Championship Night presented by Veteran’s & Athletes United and week 12 of Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship weekly racing and feature the Victory Lap Pro Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in action. Speedway to Host Aaron’s / Collision One / Pepsi Night to Benefit Healthy Harvest Food Bank and FeedMore Saturday August 25

Jamaica, VA – The speedway will return to racing Saturday August 25, 2018 to host Aaron’s | Collision One | Pepsi Night and week 11 of the Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship Weekly Racing season featuring the Victory Lap Pro Late Models, Budweiser Modifieds, Truckin Thunder Sportsman and Collision One Limited Stock Cars in action. Saturday August 25th the speedway, along with its sponsors, will be collecting food and donations for FeedMore and the Healthy Harvest Food Bank (formally known as Northern Neck Food Bank). For every five (5) non-perishable food items donated race fans will receive one (1) FREE general admission ticket to the night’s racing. There is no limit on the number of tickets you can get free. For a list of suggested food items please visit the track website or visit www.feedmore.org and click on Food Drive. The shelves at the local food banks are bare at this time of year and we encourage everyone to bring as many items as they can to donate. After suffering a rain out on August 11 the speedway will also be collecting donations to support the Adkins family after the tragic loss of their five-year old son. We are encouraging the fans to wear blue in support of the Adkins family and Camden. Admission: Five (5) non-perishable food items equals one (1) FREE general admission ticket. For all others admission price for Adults $12, seniors (60+) $10; military (active/retired w/ proper I.D.) $8, students 11 – 17 years old $6 and children 10 and under admitted free. Pit passes will be $20. To enhance the fans racing experience the speedway has installed a short wave FM transmitter and all of the evening’s action can be heard at 95.5 FM. So, bring your portable radio headset and enjoy hearing all the action. Rain Forces Cancellation of Racing on WhosYourDriver.org Night

Jamaica, VA – Just as qualifying had concluded on WhosYourDriver.org Night at Virginia Motor Speedway Mother Nature decided to dampen the night’s activities with rain. Speedway officials waited an hour before calling the night’s activities hoping that the rain would subside. This is the fifth rain out of the season. “To say we are disappointed would be an understatement as we really wanted to get in tonight’s activities not only for our fans and competitor’s but for the Adkins family; we will include our fundraising efforts for them when we come back on August 25,” commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer. Before qualifying began just about every driver in every division had pledged their race winnings to the Camden Adkins Fund and the track had already collected $2300 in cash donations as well. The track will continue that effort at the next race. The Speedway will take next Saturday August 18th off and return to racing on Saturday August 25th and host Collision One | Pepsi | Aaron’s Night to benefit Healthy Harvest Food Bank and week 11 of Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship weekly racing and feature the Victory Lap Pro Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in action.
