Speedway to host the $5000 to win FASTRAK King of the Commonwealth this Saturday, May 6

Jamaica, VA – The stars and cars of the FASTRAK Pro Late Model Touring Series will invade Virginia Motor Speedway for the $5000 to win FASTRAK King of the Commonwealth presented by Dealer Group USA this Saturday, May 6th. Many of the Mid-Atlantic’s top Pro Late Model drivers will be on hand to not only take home the $5000 top prize. “The FASTRAK Pro Late Model races are some of the best races we host here at Virginia Motor Speedway; no matter where you look, there is always three and four-wide action throughout the field,” commented track owner and President Bill Sawyer. Also, see the tracks Budweiser Modified, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, and Collision One Limited Stocks in Dirt Series Championship weekly racing action. Competitor gates for Saturday, May 6, will open at 2 pm, with spectator gates opening at 5 pm. On track, activities will begin at 6 pm with hot laps. Adult tickets are just $20; seniors (60+)/military $15; students 13 – 17 years old $10; and children 12 and under free. Pit passes, regardless of age, will be $35. Speedway Cancels Racing Activities for Saturday, April 29

Jamaica, VA – After much discussion and thought, speedway management has decided to cancel racing activities for Saturday, April 29, due to saturated grounds. “We have had so much rain that the grass parking areas have standing water, and it looks like a lake out there,” said track owner Bill Sawyer. “We hate to cancel an event, but there is no way to get the facility dry enough for an event, and with the chance of more thunderstorms tonight we had no other choice but to cancel so that we could notify our competitors and fans.” The Speedway will return to host the FASTRAK Touring Series Saturday, May 6th for a $5000 to-win event. Some of the best Pro Late Model drivers on the East Coast will be on hand for this event. The night will also feature the Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified, and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in weekly racing action. Spectator gates will open at 5 pm, and on-track action beginning at 5:30 pm with hot laps. Adult admission is $20, senior/military $15, students (13-17) $10, and children 12 and under free. Speedway Set to Open 2023 Season, This Saturday, April 15th

Jamaica, VA – Virginia Motor Speedway will throw the gates open for its 54th season of Weekly Racing, this Saturday, April 15th. To say the anticipation level for this Saturday is high would be an understatement; fans and competitors want to return to racing at the ½ mile speed plant in Jamaica, VA. The night will feature the Victory Lap Pro Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified, and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in some exciting side-by-side action. Competitor gates for Saturday, April 15th will open at 1 PM for inspection and registration, with spectator gates opening at 5 pm. On-track activities will begin at 5:30 pm for practice/hot laps. Great Weather, Huge Crowd, and Six Track Records Make for one Phenomenal Mud Bog at The Pit

Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway hit the trifecta this past Saturday with great weather, a huge crowd, and an overflowing pit full of competitors for the 18th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog presented by Estes Express Lines and Breezeline. With the cool weather, horsepower was at a premium, providing the fastest-ever mud bog in the eighteen-year history of the facility with six new division track records. The event was also sponsored by Northern Neck Chevrolet, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One, Gary’s Transmission, and Truckin Thunder. Winners in each class: King of the Superstreet Mud Series (Super Stock A) – Brad Hall in Rampage; Super Stock B – Mike Braswell in Henry; Modified A – Blake Webb in Plan B; Modified B – Ray Atkins in Haulin Gas; Pro Mod A – Ray Atkins in Haulin Gas; Pro Mod B – Charlie Wood in Mudweiser; Unlimited Bog – Ray Atkins in Haulin Gas; Meg Truck – Gary Sabella in Old #6. Six drivers broke track records in their respective classes. Four of the records had stood since October of 2017, one from 2018, and one from 2019. 18TH Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog Set for Saturday, October 8th at The Pit

Jamaica, VA – The biggest mud bog in The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway’s history is Saturday, October 8th. To say that officials are excited and anxiously awaiting the running of the 18th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog presented by Estes Express Lines and Breezeline. For the first time in the Pit’s history, there will be head-to-head mega truck racing. There will be eight “Mud Maniacs” classes competing, ranging from super stock to Mega Truck, with cash payouts in all eight divisions. Competitors are encouraged to visit www.thepitatvms.com for the rules packages and payouts. The Mega Trucks will be racing side-by-side in a bracket format on a new short course. Officials are working on a huge purse for the mega truck portion of the event to attract some of the biggest names in the business. Tyler Bare Wins the $50,000 to Win FASTRAK World Championship at Virginia Motor Speedway; Mason Zeigler Scores Non-qualifiers Race Victory

Jamaica, VA – In what can only be described as a legendary finish, Tyler Bare of Rockbridge Baths, VA, made a 3-wide pass with one lap to go to take the lead and the $50,000 victory. Bare got inside then leader Zack Dohm of Cross Lanes, WV, and a lapped car on lap 58 to take the lead heading to the white flag. The pass netted him his career-best finish, taking home the $50,000 FASTRAK World Championship presented by Dealer Group USA win and being crowned World Champion. Dohm got by Bare on lap 44 to take second and then take the lead from leader Henry Hornsby III on lap 47. Bare would follow Dohm into second. Bare would turn up the wick and chase down Dohm to battle for the lead. They battled in lapped traffic 3-wide on lap 53, with Dohm holding the top spot and then again on lap 58, Bare taking the top spot away for the win. “The money, this $50,000, will help our racing a whole bunch, but that right there (pointing to the B8 on his car) means more than the money to me. To honor my granddaddy like that really means a lot,” commented a tearful Tyler Bare in Virginia Is For Racing Lover’s victory lane. Benji Hicks and Henry Hornsby III led the field to green, with Hicks grabbing the lead. Hicks looked to be on kill as he pulled away with ease, but with the field racing three and four wide behind him. On lap 8, Kyle hardy spun in the middle of turns one and two, doing a complete 360 and continuing on, which kept the race green. On lap 16, Hicks ran into the back of a lapped car and spun in turn 4. On the lap 16 restart, a spinning third-place Tyler Emory caused a big wreck in turn 2. On the restart, Hornsby pulled away by a couple of car lengths and went on to lead at halfway and win the Wayne Sawyer Sr. Memorial Victory Lap Halfway Leader Award collecting $1000 cash and a plaque. After the 10-minute pit stop, Hornsby again grabbed the lead with Bare, Justin Williams, Zack Dohm, and Austin Hubbard in tow. On lap 37, Hubbard put a slide job on Williams in turn 4 to take third. On lap 45, Dohm got by Bare for second. Two laps later, he passed Hornsby on the outside for the lead. On lap 48, Bare got by Hornsby for second and set out to catch Dohm. On lap 53, Dohm and Bare went three wide with a lapped car, with Dohm holding on to the lead. The two raced side by side until lap 58, when they went three wide, this time Bare coming out with the lead. Bare would hold off Dohm over the last lap to score the $50,000 victory. Rounding out the top five were Dohm, Logan Roberson, Henry Hornsby III, and Austin Hubbard. Sixth through tenth were Russell Erwin, Walker Arthur, Michael Brown, Trevor Collins, and Jeremy Steele. Mason Zeigler of Chalk Hill, PA, won the 25-lap non-qualifiers race and elected to forgo the $1500 prize and tag the rear of the $50,000 FASTRAK World Championship. Zeigler was the show the first half of the main feature, racing from his twenty-seventh starting spot and making it to ninth by the hallway break. Unfortunately, Zeigler would have to go to the rear due to having to change an additional tire at the start of the second 30 laps and never mounted another charge to the front. In a drawing that included all 54 competitors, Ronnie Martin Jr. won a GM 604 engine, valued at $8200, that he could take home with him. The next event for the speedway will be the 18th annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog on Saturday, October 8. Details will be released this week on the huge mega truck event. IT’S FINALLY HERE – FASTRAK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RACE WEEK

Jamaica, VA – It is finally race week for Pro Late Model racing’s richest weekend this Friday and Saturday, September 23-24, 2022, at Virginia Motor Speedway. The $50,000 to win FASTRAK World Championship presented by Dealer Group USA will attract some of the country’s top talent to see who will be crowned World Champion and become a legend. Track officials are busy preparing the facilities for what is expected to be another record car count. The weekend will again put the spotlight squarely on the country’s best Pro Late Model drivers. This mega race will pay the winner a whopping $50,000. The weekend will also include a $1500 to win non-qualifiers race for the fastest twenty-four cars from qualifying that don’t make the A-Main. It all kicks off Friday, September 23rd, with registration, tech, two rounds of hots laps, qualifying, and heats for the FASTRAK Pro Late Model competitors. The following night Saturday, September 24th, the FASTRAK Pro Late Model competitors will have B Main(s), the 60-lap $50,000 feature, and the non-qualifiers race. The 60-lap $50,000 to win feature will consist of two 30-lap segments with a 10-minute pit stop in the middle. The driver leading at halfway will receive $1000 cash. During the break, drivers will be permitted to make adjustments and change the right rear tire only, all within a 10-minute time limit. Also, there will be a drawing for a new GM604 crate engine worth $7500 for the competitors that do not make either feature. The winner will take that engine when they leave for home. The event is open to all Pro Late Model competitors. The event will run under FASTRAK rules, with all series seals being legal, with the tire rule being FT200/FT400. In the event of rain, Sunday, September 25th, is scheduled as the rain date. Speedway to Host The Year’s Richest Weekend for Pro Late Model Drivers, Friday and Saturday, September 23-24

Jamaica, VA – Pro Late Model racing’s richest weekend returns to Virginia Motor Speedway September 23-24, 2022, as it hosts the $50,000 to win FASTRAK World Championship presented by Dealer Group USA. Track officials are busy preparing the facilities for what is expected to be another record car count. The weekend will once again put the spotlight squarely on the country’s best Pro Late Model drivers. This mega race will pay the winner a whopping $50,000. The weekend will also include a $1500 to win non-qualifiers race for the fastest twenty-four cars from qualifying that don’t make the A-Main. It all kicks off Friday, September 23rd, with registration, tech, two rounds of hots laps, qualifying, and heats for the FASTRAK Pro Late Model competitors. The following night Saturday, September 24th, the FASTRAK Pro Late Model competitors will have B Main(s), the 60-lap $50,000 feature, and the non-qualifiers race. The 60-lap $50,000 to win feature will consist of two 30-lap segments with a 10-minute pit stop in the middle. Also, there will be a drawing for a new GM604 crate engine worth $7500 for the competitors that do not make either feature. The winner will take that engine when they leave for home. The event is open to all Pro Late Model competitors. FASTRAK rules will apply. In the event of rain, Sunday, September 25th, is scheduled as the rain date.
