Davis Lipscombe Scores Victory Lap Pro Late Model Victory; Matt Quade Crowned 2018 Champion

Jamaica, VA – After what has been a tough season for Davis Lipscombe of Mechanicsville, VA he was able to end the season on a high note with a dominating win in the Victory Lap Pro Late Model feature on Northern Neck Chevrolet championship Night. Lipscombe and Dustin Ferguson of Appomattox, VA battled side by side for much of the first 11 laps before Lipscombe muscled his way to the lead on lap 12 and then drove away for the field for the win. “The car has been fast all year long, but the driver has not always been at his best. This win gives us a lot of confidence going into the FASTRAK World Championship weekend,” commented Lipscombe in WhosYourDriver.org victory lane. Rounding out the top five were Corey Almond, Dustin Ferguson, Matt Quade and Brad Rigdon. Matt Quade of Mechanicsville, MD was crowned the 2018 Victory Lap Pro Late Model Champion after wheeling his ride to a fourth place finish. Tyler Shipp of Mechanicsville, VA took the lead on the opening lap of the Truckin Thunder Sportsman feature and went on to score his second win of the season in dominating fashion. With Shipp controlling the top spot Mark Gonzales and Matt Meads battle for the entire 30 lap feature for the runner up spot with Gonzales taking it for the final time on lap 21. Rounding out the top five were Gonzales, Meads, Tim Shelton and Joe Weiss. Tim Shelton of Fredericksburg, VA was crowned the 2018 Truckin Thunder Sportsman Champion with his fourth place finish. In the Budweiser Modified feature James Sparks of Hollywood, MD jumped out to the lead on the drop of the green flag and paced the field until lap 8 when he hit the front stretch wall and came to a stop with a flat left rear tire. That handed the lead over to Joey Polevoy who went on to a full straight win with Chase Butler, Lance Grady, J.D. Eversole and Ryan Toole rounding out the top five. Division point leader Hunter McClendon of Williamsburg, VA had to park his car on lap 3 with a broken rear end and it looked as if his chances of a championship where over but his lead heading into the night was just enough to be crowned the 2018 Budweiser Modified Champion by two points over rookie Chase Butler of Mechanicsville, VA. James Givens of Henrico, VA has been dominant all year long in the Collision One Limited Stock Car division. In tonight’s feature it took him 15 laps to works his way to the front from his eighth place starting position and take the lead from Chad Champion. Over the final 10 laps Givens had to hold off multiple challenges from Trent Clemans for the lead. Coming to the white the two were side-by-side for the lead. On the final lap Clemans car pushed in turn 2 and that was all Givens needed to record his sixth win of the season and take home the 2018 Collision One Limited Stock Car Championship. Rounding out the top five Clemans, Cory Bradley, Mark Schools and Randy Hutchens. The Speedway will take next week off and will return to racing Friday and Saturday September 14 & 15 for the FASTRAK World Championship weekend. Friday September 14 the speedway will host a $5000 to win FASTRAK members only event and then on Saturday September 15th for the $20,000 to win FASTRAK World Championship that is open to any crate late model competitor. Brett Adkins and Matt Quade Score Emotional Victories; McClendon and Givens also grab wins.

Jamaica, VA – On an emotional night where the racing community rallied around the Adkins family after losing their five-year old son Camden two weeks earlier got a fairy tale ending with Brett Adkins of Saluda, VA parking it in WhosYourDriver.org victory lane scoring an emotional win over Tim Shelton of Fredericksburg, VA. Adkins would pass Shelton for the lead on lap 24 after Shelton jumped the cushion in turn 2. Adkins would hold off several late challenges for the lead to score the victory to the delight and cheers of the big crowd in attendance. “I really don’t know what to say, a couple weeks ago my life took a bad corner, I can’t thank all of you enough for being behind me and my family, it has helped make the situation a little easier and help me get to today,” commented a very emotional Adkins in WhosYourDriver.org victory lane. Rounding out the top five were Shelton, Matt meads, Taylor Doggett and Mark Gonzales. In the exciting Victory Lap Pro Lap Pro Late Model feature Matt Quade of Mechanicsville, MD held off Davis Lipscombe of Mechanicsville, VA and fast qualifier Logan Roberson of Waynesboro, VA to claim his second win of the season. Quade dedicated the win to his Grandfather, who is currently in hospice. “We have been busting our butts off, and we have the car going good and I can’t thank everyone enough. This one is for my grandfather, wish he could be here right now because he would love this,” commented an emotional Quade in WhosYourDriver.org victory lane. Rounding out the top five were Lipscombe, Roberson, Matt Glanden and Brad Rigdon. In other action Hunter McClendon of Williamsburg, VA got past Bret Hamilton of Powhatan, VA on lap 20 of the Budweiser Modified feature to score his third win of the season and in the Collision One Limited Stock Car division James Givens of Henrico, VA claimed his fifth win of the season after a spirited battle with Trent Clemans of Mechanicsville, VA. In the Victory Lap Pro Late Model feature, Tyler Bare and Matt Quade led the 18 car field to green. Quade would get a good run off of turn two to lead the first circuit. The races first caution would fly on lap two for a slowing Bare. On the restart Quade and Logan Roberson would begin a side-by-side battle that lasted for most of the 35 laps feature. With Roberson working the cushion and Quade in the middle groove the two would come to the finish line separated by inches. On lap 20 Roberson jumped the cushion in turn 2 and Lipscombe took advantage to grab the second spot. With Quade only inches in front of the battle for second, the fans were on their feet as the three drivers put on a show. Quade would hold to take the win followed by Lipscombe, Roberson, Matt Glanden and Brad Rigdon. Charlie Hubbard and Bret Hamilton led the Budweiser Modified field to green with Hamilton taking control of the race out of turn 2. The races first caution would fly on lap 2 for a slowing Ryan Toole. On the restart Hamilton jumped out to a three-car length advantage over Hunter McClendon. That advantage would quickly be erased as the two began working through lapped traffic. On lap 11 Hamilton got caught behind a lapped car allowing McClendon to get to his inside and grab the lead. Once out front McClendon pulled away from Hamilton, Josh Harris and Chris Arnold battling for second as he went on to collect his third win of the season. Hamilton Harris, Arnold and Charlie Hubbard rounded out the top five. In the Collision One Limited Stock feature Chad champion and Trent Clemans led the field to green with the battle for the lead going three wide as they barreled into turn 1. Clemans would come out of turn 2 with the lead followed by Chad Champion and Cory Bradley. On lap 10 Champion and Bradley would get together in turn 4 to bring out the races second caution, which put James Givens on second. The two leaders would battle side by side for the next 10 laps until Clemans would lose a left rear tire turn 1 while racing side by side with Givens. Givens would go on to collect his fifth win of the season. Raymond Harper, David bowler, Chad Champion and Brandon Bowler would round out the top five. The last race of the night, the 30 lap Truckin thunder Sportsman feature, capped off a storied night of racing with Brett Adkins taking home a very emotional victory over Tim Shelton. Brett Adkins and Tim Shelton led the 23 car field to green with Shelton powering to the lead on the outside with Adkins following in second. While the two leaders pulled away from the field the battle for third was intense between Matt Meads, Taylor Doggett and Mark Gonzales. Much of the remaining laps the three battled three wide for the position. With the laps winding down, Adkins began reeling in the leader. On lap 24 Shelton would jump the cushion in turn 2 while Adkins darted to his inside for the lead. Adkins would hold off several challenges from Shelton to take home the win. The Speedway will return to racing next Saturday September 1st and host Northern Neck Chevrolet Championship Night presented by Veteran’s & Athletes United and week 12 of Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship weekly racing and feature the Victory Lap Pro Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in action. Rain Forces Cancellation of Racing on WhosYourDriver.org Night

Jamaica, VA – Just as qualifying had concluded on WhosYourDriver.org Night at Virginia Motor Speedway Mother Nature decided to dampen the night’s activities with rain. Speedway officials waited an hour before calling the night’s activities hoping that the rain would subside. This is the fifth rain out of the season. “To say we are disappointed would be an understatement as we really wanted to get in tonight’s activities not only for our fans and competitor’s but for the Adkins family; we will include our fundraising efforts for them when we come back on August 25,” commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer. Before qualifying began just about every driver in every division had pledged their race winnings to the Camden Adkins Fund and the track had already collected $2300 in cash donations as well. The track will continue that effort at the next race. The Speedway will take next Saturday August 18th off and return to racing on Saturday August 25th and host Collision One | Pepsi | Aaron’s Night to benefit Healthy Harvest Food Bank and week 11 of Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship weekly racing and feature the Victory Lap Pro Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in action. We will be collecting donations and non-perishable food items for the local food banks. For every five (5) items donated receive a free general admission ticket. Matt Quade Scores Career First Pro Late Model Victory; Shelton, McClendon and Givens also Take Wins

Jamaica, VA – On the night that the lights went out in Jamaica Matt Quade of Avenue, MD collected his career first Victory Lap Pro Late Model victory on Atlantic Broadband Night at Virginia Motor Speedway. After two weeks of rains that put a damper on just about all racing activities in the Mid-Atlantic the sun finally shined on a Saturday night. So, when the track experienced a complete blackout due to a power outage in the county it looked as if we would lose another event. After a 45-minute delay the lights came back on and racing was able to continue to the delight of the crowd. The blackout might have been exciting but the action in the Victory Lap Pro Late Model feature was even more exciting. Matt Quade of Avenue, MD and Bud Stinson of Appomattox, VA put on a side-by-side driving clinic, trading the lead six times before Quade would eventually take control of the 35-lap affair. Once out-front Quade would cruise to his career first Pro Late Model win and become the fifth different winner in as many races. “That was definitely the hardest win I have ever had to work for and it has been the hardest first win to come by in my career,” commented Quade in WhosYourDriver.org victory lane. Rounding out the top five were Davis Lipscombe, Corey Almond, Dustin Ferguson and Matt Tarbox. In other action Hunter McClendon of Williamsburg, VA became the first two-time winner in the Budweiser Modified division; in the Truckin Thunder Sportsman 30 lap feature Tim Shelton of Fredericksburg, VA would lead every lap on way to his second win of the season and in the Collision One Limited Stock Car 25 lap feature James Givens of Sandston, VA picked up his fourth win of the season and second in a row. Camden Testerman and first-time VMS competitor Bud Stinson led the Victory Lap Pro Late Model field to green with Stinson taking the lead out of turn 2 followed by Matt Quade. Stinson and Quade would put on a show for the fans racing side by side and trading the lead back and forth six times before Quade would take control of the feature. Once out front Quade would keep a comfortable distance between himself and the battle for second on back. While Quade was set on cruise the other battles in the top five were exciting as Davis Lipscombe, Corey Almond, Dustin Ferguson, Matt Tarbox and Brent Bordeaux battled to stay in the top five. No one had anything for Quade over the last 15 laps as he drove to his career first victory in the Pro Late Model division and continued the trend of a different winner in every race this season. Davis Lipscombe, Corey Almond, Dustin Ferguson and Matt Tarbox rounded out the top five. Tim Shelton and Tyler Shipp led the Truckin Thunder field to green with Shelton jumping out to the lead out of turn 2. Shelton would pace the field with Matt Meads following close behind him in second. The only thing to slow Shelton over the remaining 25 laps were a couple of cautions that closed the field on his bumper. Meads did mount a late charge and looked inside Shelton coming out of turn 4 as they headed to the checkers but Shelton would hold on for the win. Meads, Tyler Shipp, Joe Weiss and Brett Adkins rounded out the top five. Tim Schulte and Ryan Toole led the Budweiser Modified field to green with Toole rocketing to the lead on the outside followed by Schulte, fast qualifier Francis Jarrelle and Bret Hamilton. Toole began to pull away from the field with Schulte and Hamilton battling for second. The races first caution would fly on lap 8 for a spin by Josh Harris in turn 4. On the restart Toole once again jumped out to a nice lead as Jarrelle worked his way to third. Jarrelle would retire to the infield a lap later after losing a drive shaft. Toole would pace the field until lap 24 when McClendon worked the outside of Toole in turn 2 for the lead. Once out front McClendon would go on to his second win of 2018. Rounding out the top 5 were Tim Schulte, Bret Hamilton, Josh Harris and Jeff Solinger. It only took James Givens 5 laps to take the lead in the Collision One Limited Stock feature and would go on to score his fourth win of the season. Raymond harper and Cory Bradley led the field to green with the action quickly going three-wide as Trent Clemans moved to the inside to take the lead at the line. His lead would be short lived as he would spin in turn 4 by himself on lap 4. Bradley would lead them back to green but James Givens would power around him for the lead. Rain and Saturated Grounds Force Cancellation of Racing for Saturday July 28th

Jamaica, VA – Persistent heavy rains all week and downpours over night have forced officials at Virginia Motor Speedway to cancel racing activities for Saturday July 28th. “With the amount of rain we had during the week, the torrential downpours over night and a forecast for more of the same today have forced us to make this difficult decision. The grounds just can’t take any more moisture,” commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer. The speedway will return to racing on Saturday August 4th and host Atlantic Broadband Night and week 9 of Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship weekly action featuring the Victory Lap Pro Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in action. Tyler Bare Takes Pro Late Model Victory; Polevoy, Shelton and Coltrain all grab first wins of the season.

Jamaica, VA – Tyler Bare of Rockbridge Baths, VA took over the top spot in the Victory Lap Pro Late Model after race leader Jared Powell of Charlottesville, VA and second place Matt Quade of Mechanicsville, MD got together on lap 23 seconding both the rear of the field. Once out front Bare powered away from the field to take the win. “We hate to win them that way, but we will take it. We found something on the top groove and I believe we had something for them anyway. We had a chance to race closer to home tonight but we chose to come back to Virginia Motor Speedway because we love it here,” commented Bare in WhosYourDriver.org victory lane. Rounding out the top five were Ryan Adams, Matt Tarbox, Corey Almond and Camden Testerman. In other action Joey Polevoy of Powhatan, VA scored an emotional win in the Budweiser Modified feature. In the Truckin Thunder Sportsman feature Tim Shelton of Fredericksburg, VA wrestled the lead away from Joe Weiss of Elizabeth City, NC to become the third winner in as many races and in the Collision One Limited Stock Car 25 lap feature Marty Coltrain of North Chesterfield, VA held off a late race challenge from point leader James Givens of Sandston, VA to return to victory lane after a two year absence. Chuck Bowie and Jared Powell led the Victory Lap Late Model field to green with Powell grabbing the lead out of turn 2. On the next lap Matt Quade would get by Bowie for second and set out to catch Powell. On lap 12 Quade tried to get under Powell for the lead but was unable to make the pass. For the next 16 laps the two battled for the lead side by side with Tyler Bare making it three wide on several occasions. On lap 23 Quade dove in hard under Powell in turn four and slammed into the side of Powell’s car sending him for a spin. The move resulted in a black flag for Quade sending both drivers to the rear of the field. That handed the lead over to Bare, a lead he would not relinquish as he drove on to the win. Rounding out the top five were Ryan Adams, Matt Tarbox, Corey Almond and Camden Testerman. The win by Bare makes it three different winners in three races. In the Truckin Thunder Sportsman it only took six laps for Tim Shelton to grab the lead away from Joe Weiss, but those were six hotly contested laps. Once out front though Shelton was able to pull away to grab the win. Rounding out the top five were Weiss, Matt Meads, Steve Causey and Tyler Shipp. Shelton’s win makes it three different winners in three events. In the Budweiser Modified 30 lap feature it looked as if Francis Jarrell was going to walk away with an easy win. But on lap 11 two lapped cars spun in turn 3, collecting the leader in the process. That handed the lead over to Joey Polevoy and he took complete advantage of the situation. Once the field got back under green Polevoy pulled away from the battle for second between Tim Schulte and Chase Butler. Polevoy would cruise to the win with Schulte, Butler, twentieth starting Ryan Toole and Jeff Solinger. It may look like Marty Coltrain had an easy time in grabbing his first Collision One Limited Stock Car win in two years, but what the scorecard doesn’t show you is the amount of challenges for the lead he had to defend. Coltrain and Chad Champion led the field to green with Coltrain grabbing the lead out of turn 2. Champion tried several times to get under Coltrain to take the lead but was unable to make the pass. Trent Clemens and James Givens then made it a four car race for the lead. On lap 6 Givens took over second with a power move to the outside of both champion and Clemens in turn 2. Once in second he began to apply pressure to the bumper of Coltrain. Just behind him Corey Bradley had worked his way from his twentieth starting position to pressure Givens for second. Coltrain worked his line and kept Givens at bay to take home his first win in two years. Rounding out the top five were Givens, Bradley, Champion and Brandon Bowler. Speedway Falls to Rain for the Third Time This Season

Jamaica, VA – Just as competitors were making it on the track for hot laps Mother Nature decided to interrupt the evenings activities with lightning and a heavy downpour that ended S.T.A.R. Kids Night racing activities at Virginia Motor Speedway. Speedway officials will work with the Gloucester S.T.A.R. program to reschedule the night’s activities. “We tried to get tonight’s events in, but with heavy lightning and a severe thunderstorm warning in affect we felt that the safety of our fans and competitors was paramount,” commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer. Next up for the speedway will be the $20,000 to win 42nd Annual USA 100 presented by WhosYourDriver.org on Saturday June 16th. The Ultimate Super Late Model Series competitors will compete in a 60-lap feature for the $20,000 top prize. Speedway Cancels Racing Activities for Saturday June 2nd

Jamaica, VA – Speedway management has made the decision to cancel racing activities for Saturday June 2nd due to the unfavorable forecast that includes heavy thunderstorms and a Flash Flood Warning until early Sunday Morning. This is the second rainout of the 2018 season. The speedway will now host Gloucester S.T.A.R. Kids Night and week 6 of the Aaron’s Dirt Series Champion weekly racing season Saturday June 9th. The night will feature the Victory Lap Late Models, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in action. “We are extremely disappointed in losing another race to weather, but the safety of our fans, competitors and staff is our utmost concern and would not want to take a chance of putting them or their families in any kind of danger”, commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer. Sawyer added, “S.T.A.R. Kids Night is very special to us which makes this decision even more difficult, but we will move their night to next Saturday June 9th.” The S.T.A.R. program provides athletics, games and social time to children with special needs. PARKS SCORES EMOTIONAL PRO LATE MODEL VICTORY; McCLENDON, WEISS AND GIVENS ALSO SCORE WINS

Jamaica, VA – Mark Parks of Lynchburg, VA grabbed the lead on the opening green flag and led all 35 laps of the Victory Lap Pro Late Model feature at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway on way to a very emotional victory on WRAR / WNNT Night at the Races. Parks and Matt Tarbox of Brandywine, MD led the field to green with parks jumping to the lead from the outside of turn 2. Once out front Parks put on a driving clinic to pick up the victory. “This is a very emotional win for me; I lost my dad several weeks back and this one is for him,“ commented a tearful Parks in victory lane. Rounding out the top five were matt Quade, Corey Almond, Davis Lipscombe and Camden Testerman. In other action Hunter McClendon of Williamsburg, VA took the lead from Ryan Toole of Henrico, NC and went on to score the Budweiser Modified victory; in the Truckin Thunder Sportsman feature Joe Weiss of Elizabeth City NC finally scored his first VMS victory and in the Collision One Limited Stock Car division James Givens of Henrico, VA drove from his ninth place starting position to muscle the lead away from Chad Champion of Beaverdam, VA on lap 14 and go on to take the win. In the Victory Lap Pro Late Model feature Matt Tarbox and mark Parks lead the field to green. Parks would power around the outside of Tarbox in turn 2 for the lead. Once out front Parks stretched his lead out to a full straight away. Behind him the battle for second was fierce between Tarbox, Camden Testerman and Matt Quade. Qaude would eventually take over the second spot but could not get close to Parks except on the races two cautions. During the races late laps fast qualifier Corey Almond would work his way to third but could not get any closer to the leader. Parks would cruise to the win followed by Qaude, Almond, Davis Lipscombe and Camden Testerman. In the Budweiser Modified 30 lap feature Ryan Toole and Chase Butler led the field to green with Toole taking the lead out of turn 2. Toole would fend off several challenges by Butler for the lead before battling with Hunter McClendon for the top spot. On lap 10 McClendon went to the outside of Toole in turn 1 to take the lead out of turn 2. Once out front sailed to the victory. Rounding out the top five were Toole Tim Schulte, rookie Chase Butler and rookie J.D. Eversole. In the Truckin Thunder Sportsman 30 lap feature Bill Coada and Chad Beaher led the field to green, Coada would rocket out to lead the first lap. Coada would pace the first six laps with Tim Shelton banging on his back door. On lap 6 Shelton finally got by on the outside for the lead bringing fast qualifier Joe Weiss with him to second. Weiss would quickly go to work on Shelton for the top spot taking it away at the line on lap 8. Once out front Weiss kept control and went on to score his career first victory at the speedway. Steve Causey, Tyler Shipp, Tim Shelton and Chad Beahr rounded out the top five. As usual the Collision One Limited Stock Cars did not disappoint in their 25 lap feature. John Hankins Jr. and Mark Schools led the field to green with Hankins leading the first circuit. The top five were all in striking distance of the lead and on lap 4 Mark Schools grab the top spot away from Hankins. One lap later Chad Champion muscled his way under Schools out of turn 4 for the lead at the line. Over the next 8 laps Champion battled side by side with James Givens for the lead until Givens powered around the outside of Champion in turn 1 to take the lead. Once out front Givens was able to keep a fast charging Cory Bradley at bay to take the win. Rounding out the top five were Bradley, Champion, Trent Clemans and Randy Hutchens. The Speedway will return to racing next Saturday May 5th and host Truckin Thunder / Northern Neck Chevrolet Night and week 3 of the Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship weekly racing action featuring the Victory Lap Pro Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions. The night will benefit the charity ChildHelp. Also, all Scouts in uniform will be admitted in FREE. Admission price for adults is only $12, seniors (60+) $10; military (active/retired w/ proper I.D.) $8, students 11 – 17 years old $6 and children 10 and under admitted free. Pit passes will be $20. Competitor gates for Saturday May 5th will open at 3pm with spectator gates opening at 5pm. On track activities will begin at 6:30pm with hot laps.
