Jamaica, VA – Joey Saldana of Brownsburg, IN worked lapped traffic to perfection in the Paul Sawyer Memorial at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway leading flag to flag to pick up his seventh win of the season and second in a row for the driver of the Kasey Kahne owned #9 Budweiser Maxim.

Saldana held off several challenges from Sam Hafertepe Jr. and an opening lap challenge from defending race winner Jason Meyers to pick up the victory.

“It was a great effort for our team after changing an engine after time trials, good thing we changed it or we wouldn’t be standing here right now. We were pretty good on the top or the bottom while working traffic, with this new wing you definitely have to chase your car all night long, you just can’t give up on what you got because we qualified twelfth and still come out with a win,” commented Saldana in victory lane.
