Bring-on the super lates and horsepower and you’ll see the stands fill !. I really feel the crowds would come for any event with super lates.; doesn’t always have to be LUCAS or MACS, etc. Not arguing a BUSINESS decision, but maybe a poll of fans would help support a SUPER LATE showdown. Thanks!

VMS is a beautiful facility but it needs big shows to make use of those huge spectator stands. Inconsistancy does not build tradition or fan loyalty.

l’ve been to VMS for WoO Sprints and SLM, MACS, LUCAS, DirtMods and I think Carolina CLASH (?). Sorry to hear there will be no traveling series this year. Other tracks have SRO crowds when the big boys come to town. I can’t understand why VMS is different. One suggestion – don’t close when RIR is racing, put on a big show on Thursday. Look at what Del Int and Volunteer does, they pack the house. Lights and Saturday night nascar racing = no good. Even on Sunday, it’s follow the leader racing for 3/4 of the race, then a late pit stop followed by some actual racing……..almost. Remember – it’s still on asphalt.

Its a real shame that the area doesnt really support this fine track. I travel alot and have been to many states that cover dirt racing, believe me this track has it all! Growing up in Ohio and watching the Winged Sprints every weekend was a gas. Now living in Newport News, Va. I really enjoy coming up to the track to camp out during the big events. I expect to see less people here this year,but the action will be just as good as ever.

Hate it that the Lucas Oil series and the WoO series are not coming back in 2013. We go to PA. or MD. about once a month, and living in Chester, VA, VMS is our home track. We have attended almost every Super Late Model event there since Billy bought it. Looking at the stands during the Commonwealth 100, I can understand your decision. I wish I could tell you how to get the fans there. 200 miles north you would have to turn people away….never understood that.
