
Jamaica, VA – With 43 of the region’s top super late model drivers in attendance it looked as if the Miss Utility Summer Sizzler was going to create a lot of heat on the race track. With qualifying and two of the four scheduled heats in the book heavy rains and lightning descended on the track forcing officials of Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway to cancel the rest of the evening’s program.
43 super late models took time in AlturnaMATS® Time Trials with defending Champion Jason Covert of York Haven, PA setting fast time.

Jamaica, VA - The stars of the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS Late Models) are headed to Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway for the first of two visits in 2008. This Saturday, June 14th the ground pounding super late models will hit the track for the Miss Utility Summer Sizzler featuring the 50-lap, $7,000 to win “Dig With Care 50”.

Batman with driver Bobby Parr won the racing portion of Night 2 of Monster Slam
Jamaica, VA - Even mother nature couldn’t pick up a win against the “Monsters of Mayhem and Destruction” during Night two of Monster Slam at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway. Several hours a storm blew through the area bringing rains and lightening. The storm moved the “Pit Party” to under the grandstands but that was the only deviation from the night’s events as the monster truck contingent put on a tremendous show for the fans.

Escalade takes wild ride during freestyle portion of Monster Slam
Jamaica, VA - Night one of Monster Slam at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway turned out to be a spectacular night of “Mayhem and Destruction” with Grave Digger taking the racing portion of the event and Mopar Magic repeating as Freestyle Champion.
The night started out with Pablo Huffaker in Grave Digger setting a new course record of 5.28 seconds; the old record of 5.87 seconds was set in 2007 by the one and only Dennis Anderson in the same truck.

Jamaica, VA – The ‘Monster’s of Mayhem and Destruction’ are headed to Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway this Friday and Saturday June 6 – 7, 2008 for Monster Slam presented by Thurston Spring Service and Truckin Thunder. Leading the way will be the one and only Grave Digger.
Joining in on the destruction will be Batman, Ninja Turtle, Escalade, Mopar Magic, Bad News, Gunslinger and Virginia Beach, VA’s Steve Sims in Stone Crusher.
