The cool temperatures and partly sunny skies provided a tremendous day for mud bogging. Overall 137 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 271 total passes.

Adding to the excitement Steve Sims in Stone Crusher and Maxey Broadus in Walking Tall put on a fantastic freestyle monster truck show for the fans with some high flying maneuvers. The “Master of Disaster” himself Dennis Anderson brought out his newest creation King Sling and thrilled the crowd with a performance that only Dennis Anderson could pull off.

Winners in each class: Stock A – “Mudiva” Tanya Ricks in Hell On Heels; Stock B – David Mizell in Tetnus Shot; Modified A – George Johnson in Gold Digger 2; Modified B – George Johnson in Gold Digger; Modified C – Ray Adkins in Haulin Gas; Pro Mod – Clint Saunders in Muddy Money; Unlimited Bog – Herby Dorsett in Jus Playin’; X Cuts – Clarke Sawyer in Anxious; and XX Paddles – Travis Shoemaker in Highroller 4. Melvin Deavers in Neighborhood Nuisance took top Nitrous/Non-blower bonus in the X Cuts class while Travis Shoemaker in High Roller 4 took top Nitrous/Non-blower bonus in the XX Paddle class.

In the Chuck Engel Memorial Truck Show James Fosher III of Newport News, VA won Best Chevrolet; Mike Gunter of Chesterfield, VA won Best Ford; Don Coates of Glucester, VA won Best Dodge; Calvin Rhodes of Saluda, VA won Best Off Road; James Powell / Ronnie Coates of Hayes, VA won Best Paint; Chris Perdue won Best Interior; John Zollinger of Millersville, MD won Best Suspension; Taylor Bukoski of Mechanicsville, VA won Best In Progress; Katherine Campbell of Urbanna, VA won Best Engineered; Trace Burgess of Kill Devil Hills, NC won Best of Show and the People’s Choice Award went to the late Chuck Engel.

The 2013 events were announced during the event and will see The Pit host Mud Mania on Saturday June 15, 2012 and the 9th Annual Run A Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling on Saturday October 5, 2013 (Rain Date Oct. 12).

The Mud Mayhem 2 Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by Rappahannock Tractor and the Virginia Army National Guard and in part by Davis off Road, ORI of Richmond, Truckin Thunder, Collision One and Monster Energy Drink drew a huge crowd and record field of competitors at the state of the art mud bog facility in Jamaica, VA.

The sunny temperatures and sunny skies provided a tremendous day for mud bogging. 112 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 202 completed passes.

Winners in each class: Stock A – “Mudiva” Tanya Ricks in Hell On Heels becoming The Pit’s first female competitor to win a division; Stock B – Luther Ganon in Just Blazin’; Modified A – George Johnson in Gold Digger 2; Modified B – George Johnson in Gold Digger; Modified C – Herby Dorsett in Jusplayin; Pro Mod – Chuck Engel in Mud Life Crisis; Unlimited Bog – Chuck Engel in Mud Life Crisis; X Cuts – Travis Shoemaker in Highroller 4; and XX Paddles – Chris Newton in Hostile Projectile. Travis Shoemaker in High Roller 4 took top Nitrous/Non-blower bonus in both the X Cut class and XX Paddle class.

The event also boasted another large field of competitors featuring not only some of the areas top mud trucks in a very tough mud pit but also the very popular 1500 horsepower mud dragsters in the mud sling pit. If that wasn’t enough the fans were also treated to an awesome monster truck freestyle show by Equalizer and fans also witnessed the first performance of Dennis Anderson’s King Sling at a track other than Anderson’s own Muddy Motorsports Park.

Fans were also were able to take a ride on the Stone Crusher ride along truck.

The perfect temperatures and sunny skies provided a tremendous day for mud bogging. Overall 104 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 190 total passes.

Winners in each class: Stock A – George Johnson in Gold Digger 2; Stock B – Leslie Newbern in Dragon Fly; Modified A – Kenny Crowder in Mr. Nasty Time; Modified B – Joe Parnell in Blue Demon; Modified C – Joe Parnell in Blue Demon; Unlimited Bog – Joe Parnell in Blue Demon; X Class – Chris Newton in Hostile Projectile; and XX Class – Chris Newton in Hostile Projectile.

In his first time to the The Pit at VMS Joe Parnell driving Blue Demon set new track records in the Mod B, Mod C and Unlimited Bog divisions. His 3.997 second run in the Unlimited Bog division was the first sub four second run in the 200 foot pit.

Jamaica, VA – With the rains now out of the way The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway will host the 6th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by Rappahannock Tractor and The Virginia Army National Guard Saturday October 2nd featuring a state of the art 200-foot Mud Bog and Mud Sling pits. There will be seven classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from street to unlimited with cash payouts in all classes.

Not only will fans get to see hordes of trucks splashing through the 200 foot Mud Bog pit but they will also get the opportunity to see some of the regions best Mud Dragsters covering the 200 foot Mud Sling pit in under three seconds. The event will also include Stone Crusher and Mopar Magic in a car crushing monster truck freestyle show. Their will be a Monster “Ride-A-Long” Truck on hand for the afternoons festivities as well. Rides will be $5 per ride.

Gates and registration will open at 9am with Single Eliminations for Stock A, B; Modified A, B, C along with X, XX and Unlimited Bog classes beginning at 12 noon. Registration and inspection for Stock, Modified and Unlimited Bog classes ends at 11:30pm with X and XX Unlimited ending at 1pm. Rules for each class are now available at the speedway’s website www.vamotorspeedway.com.

Admission for the 6th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling is Adults – $12, Children 7 – 17 years old – $10 and Children 6 and under FREE.

Competitors should visit www.thepitatvms.com to print off draw sheets and driver information sheets that must be filled out before going through for inspection.
