King of Commonwealth and USA 100 Dates Set; 2015 Schedule in Progress

Jamaica, VA — Officials at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway are excited to announce the dates for the track’s two Super Late Model special events in 2015. As in past season’s the 2015 season will get the green flag with the running of the $20,000 to win King of the Commonwealth on Saturday April 11th. This year the event will be sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series. A support division is being discussed and will be announced in the next few weeks. The second special event of the season will once again be the $10,000 to win USA 100 on Saturday May 16th and will once again be sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series. The track will also host the 2015 Fastrak World Championship for Pro Late Models tentatively set for October 1-3, 2015. Look for the complete 2015 schedule to be released in the next two weeks....

Jamaica, VA – Bill Sawyers Virginia Motor Speedway wrapped up the 2014 season by recognizing the top ten in each of the track’s divisions with special attention reserved for the 2014 champions. During the night’s events almost $38,000 in cash and prizes were awarded, of that almost $32,000 was in cash. Justin Williams of Shipman, VA was crowned the 2014 Victory Lap Late Model Champion for the second year in a row and received a check for $5,000 for his efforts. Williams also received a $500 certificate from the Joie of Seating, a custom calendar from Al Goulder Photography and his Championship helmet trophy and jacket. Bobby Thompson of Concord, VA was crowned the very first Aaron’s Pro Late Model Champion. Thompson received a check for $1,000, a $500 certificate from the Joie of Seating, a custom calendar from Al Goulder Photography and his Championship helmet trophy and jacket. Brett Adkins of Gloucester, VA was crowned the 2014 Truckin Thunder Sportsman Champion for the second year in a row and received a check for $1,000 for his efforts. Matt Quade of Mechanicsville, MD was crowned the 2014 Budweiser Modified Champion and received a check for $1,000 for his efforts. 2014 AWARDS BANQUET TICKETS ON SALE

Jamaica, VA – Virginia Motor Speedway will celebrate the 2014 season and officially bring it to a close with the 2014 Awards Banquet on Saturday, November 1, 2014. The event will once again be held at the beautiful Double Tree Hotel and Resort in Virginia Beach, VA. Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased by going to the Speedway’s website at www.vamotorspeedway.com and printing off the order form or by calling Dave Seay or Brian Tidball at the Speedway’s office Monday through Friday between the hours of 10am and 3pm. Tickets can be purchased with a Mastercard, Visa or Discover by calling the speedway. Tickets for this special occasion are only $40 per person and include a buffet dinner and the Awards Ceremony. Special room rates of $65 per night have been established with the newly renovated Double Tree Hotel & Resort and $58 per night at the Quality Inn Oceanfront. All Virginia Motor Speedway drivers, crews and families are encouraged to attend this year’s banquet. There are no limits on the number of tickets a person can order. Jamaica, VA – Mother Nature tried to dampen the spirits of those in attendance with cold and rainy weather for 10th Annual Down & Dirty Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment, the Virginia National Guard and RedNex Sporting at The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway, but everyone in attendance was treated to one of the best shows in the ten year history of the facility. The event was also sponsored by Monster Energy Drinks, Kalbones Speed Shop & Offroad, Aaron’s, Collision One, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, ORI of Richmond and Truckin Thunder. The great crowd was treated to some great action in both the mud bog and mud sling pits as Ray Atkins of King William, VA in Haulin Gas set a new division track record in the Monster Energy Pro Mod B class with a 4.246 second pass and Chris Newton of Chesapeake, VA in Hostile Projectile set a new division track record in the Virginia Army National Guard XX-Paddle class with a pass of 2.263 seconds, breaking his own record that had stood since 2011. 92 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 218 registered passes. Jamaica, VA — Officials at Virginia Motor Speedway are happy to announce that Brandon Parris, the crew member injured in the ATV accident on Saturday night, is doing very well and back home in South Carolina. Parris was released from VCU Medical Center on Sunday October 5th at 2pm. He suffered a fractured shoulder and some cuts and bruises. We would like to thank the entire safety staff, Mattaponi Rescue Squad, Life Evac and the staff at VMS Medical Center for the outstanding job done. Jamaica, VA – Tim Dohm of Charleston, WV battled with early race leader David Smith of Inman, SC side by side for 11 laps before finally taking the top spot on lap 27. Once out front Dohm survived several cautions with Jonathan Davenport behind him trying to get by for the lead. Dohm went on to take the $20,000 Fastrak World Championship by almost 3 seconds. “I’ve won some $10,000 to win races but this is amazing, the biggest win of my career,” commented an elated Dohm. “The car was just amazing, I could take it anywhere on the racetrack,” added Dohm. Rounding out the top five were twentieth starting Jonathan Davenport, Max Blair, Jimmy Shiltz and Rick Williams. B-Main wins went to Tyler Hersey, Johnathan Davenport and Kyle Thomas. Heat race winners on Friday night were Colby Cannon, Walker Arthur, David Smith, Chris Meadows, Jimmy Shiltz and Tim Dohm. In other action Matt Long of Concord, NC led flag to flag to win the Engine Builders Non-Qualifier 25 lap race and Matt Quade picked up the win in $2000 to win 30 lap Safety-Kleen Modified Rumble on the River. Colby Cannon and Walker Arthur led the 26 car field to green with Arthur taking the lead out of turn 2. On a restart on lap 3 Smith swept the outside of Arthur out of turn 4 to take the lead. Smith led the next 11 laps unchallenged, on lap 15 that all changed. Tim Dohm went to work on the outside as Smith worked the cushion. For the next 11 laps the two raced side by side with Smith holding on to the lead each time until lap 26 when Dohm finally got by for good out of turn 2. The driver on the move was twentieth starting Jonathan Davenport who woked his way to second by lap 32. On lap 34 he finally got by Smith for the spot with Corey Gordon following to third. On with twenty laps to go Dohm had stretched the lead to a full straight over the Davenport and Gordon battle. Gordon took second away on lap 50 while Dohm got slowed by a four wide battle in the back. Gordon gave up second on lap 52 when he came to stop with a flat left rear tire. On the final restart Davenport gave it one more shot but Dohm pulled away out of turn 2 and on to the $20,000 victory. Rounding out the top five were twentieth starting Jonathan Davenport, Max Blair, Jimmy Shiltz and Rick Williams. In the 25 lap Engine Builder Non-Qualifer race Joe Cox and Matt Long led the field to green with Long taking the lead out of turn 2. Once out front Long put it on cruise control while they battled for second behind him. Cox, Kenny Peebles and Josh Holtgraver all took turns at trying to run down Long for the lead in the caution filled event. Long went on in dominating fashion, never being challenged to pick up the $1500 win. In the Budweiser Modified $2000 to win Safety-Kleen Modified Rumble on the River 30 Matt Quade took the lead on lap 10 and never looked back and went on to collect the win. Bret Hamilton and Mike Reynolds led the field to green with Hamilton taking control of the lead out of turn 2. Hamilton paced the field until lap 9 when Quade dove under him in turn 2 to take the lead. Once out front Quade began to pull away from the battle for second. Joey Polevoy drove under Hamilton in turn one on lap 18 to take over second. A caution on lap 28 set up a green, white, checker finish. On the final restart Qaude pulled away and went on to the $2000 win. Rounding out the top five were Polevoy, Hamilton, Chris Arnold and Josh Harris. Matt Qaude also set a new division track record in qualifying with a lap of 18.901 seconds. Jamaica, VA – Mother Nature did her best to disrupt night 2 of the $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship but officials were able to get all six heat races in before rain suspended the $1000 winner take all “King of the Hill” race till after tonight’s events. In heat race action Colby Cannon, Walker Arthur, David Smith, Chris Meadows, Jimmy Shiltz and Tim Dohm picked up wins guaranteeing them a spot in tonight’s big $20,000 Fastrak World Championship finale. On heat race of note was heat race number three where Jonathan Davenport crossed the finish line as the winner only to not pass post-race inspection giving the win to 4-time Fastrak SE Touring Series Champion David Smith. In Fastrak World Championship qualifying David Smith set the overall fast time with an 18.604 second lap. That lap was just .005 of a second off the track record set this year by Daniel Baggerly. Tonight’s schedule of events for the Fastrak pro Late Model competitors will consist of hot laps, B-Mains and the 60 lap $20,000 to win feature. There will also be a $1500 to win Engine Builders non-qualifiers race that will start 24 cars. The remainder of the 25 lap “King of the Hill” feature will be run at the end of the program. It will pick up where it left off last night at lap 5. Joining the program tonight will be the track’s Budweiser Modified division for $2000 to win event. Fans will have a chance for a little Fastrak World Championship interaction with the Tire-X Pit Crew Challenge presented by the VA Army National Guard will being held under the main grandstands starting at 5pm. The fastest fan will win $250 and the fastest crew member will also win $250. The overall fastest will receive a huge trophy during opening race ceremonies. Speedway kicks off Fastrak World Championship with phenomenal practice

Jamaica, VA – The best Pro Late Model drivers in the country converged on Virginia Motor Speedway for the kick-off of the $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship presented by Safety-Kleen. With the biggest field of the year on hand just to practice on the ½ mile speed plant, the excitement level is at a fever pitch. “The Super Bowl of PRO Late Model Racing” will pay out over $150,000+ in the two days of racing with a cool $20,000 going to the winner. Teams from Indiana, New York, West Virginia, Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio and Kentucky are about to undertake the most exciting race of their career. Night one consisted of an open practice for the fifty-two competitors on hand and went extremely well and smooth. The majority of the FASTRAK competitors used the time to shake down their cars and to figure out the unique configuration of the immaculate facility. “I am thrilled with the turnout for a Thursday to kick things off for FASTRAK’S first visit to Jamaica, VA,” exclaimed FASTRAK Founder Stan Lester. “Just seeing the eyes and reaction of the FASTRAK competitors, families and crews in “awe” of how magnificent Virginia Motor Speedway is was worth it to me, car count is fantastic for mid-week and will continue to get larger before we crown someone the 2014 Fastrak World Champion,” concluded Lester. FASTRAK and Virginia Motor Speedway officials were thrilled with how practice went. The cars picked up speeds and got “faster and faster” as the night went on. An unofficial track record was run during practice and has everyone hyped about Friday’s qualifying and heat races. Friday October 3 racing will include hot laps, qualifying and heats for the Fastrak Pro Late Model competitors and also feature a $1000 to win “winner take all” King of the Hill race. Friday October 3rd admission prices will be: Adults – $15, Seniors (60+) / Military – $12, Students (13-17) – $10 and Children 12 and under free with paying adult. Competitor gates will open at 3pm with spectator gates opening at 6pm. On track action will begin at 7pm with hot laps. Arthur Beef Farm has signed on to be “Title Sponsor” of the Pit Crew Cook-off on Thursday night October 2nd. On Thursday night October 2nd after open practice the track will host the very popular Cecil B. Arthur Beef Farm “Pit Crew Cook Off”. This gives the crews a chance to be the stars for a change.
