Jamaica, VA – With stellar car counts and exciting racing being the norm at Florida Speedweeks events anticipation is running high for the $25,000 to win Third Annual Commonwealth 100 scheduled for April 13 – 14, 2012 at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, VA. “When you look at the car counts and the exciting racing being put on during Florida Speedweeks it only gets you amped and excited to have the best dirt late model drivers in the country headed to Virginia for what we feel is going to be the best Commonwealth 100 yet,” commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer. VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY HEADED TO MOTORSPORTS 2012 SHOW

Jamaica, VA – Virginia Motor Speedway is headed to the 27th Annual Motorsports 2012 presented by SEF Small Engine Fuel January 20-22, 2012. The popular show produced by Len Sammons Productions is back to the Philadelphia, PA area once again for the 27th anniversary show and will be held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA. Motorsports 2012 Presented by SEF Small Engine Fuel will cover close to 220,000 square feet of the Expo Center with more than 600 exhibit areas offering just about everything automotive. Close to 200 racecars will be on display and there will be appearances by many of the top names in the sport along with many local and regional stars including David Pearson, John Force, Rusty Wallace, Kenny Wallace and many others. 2012 RULES FOR ALL DIVISIONS HAVE BEEN UPDATED

Jamaica, VA – The 2012 rules packages for all four of our weekly divisions have been updated and posted under the Drivers tab, then under Forms and Rules. It is the competitors responsibility to download both the General Rules and the rules associated with their particular division they will be running during the 2012 season. Attention Late Model and Sportsman drivers – There will be a change in the tire rule once we get the final information from Hoosier Tire. They are discontinuing several tire compounds and in the process we will have to change our tire offerings for 2012 and beyond. Once we have the compound numbers the rules will be updated and we will post them on the website and on our Facebook page....

Adams, Traylor, Arnold and Givens crowned Champions at Virginia Motor Speedway; Traylor crowned VA Army National Guard Dirt Series Champion

Jamaica, VA – Bill Sawyers Virginia Motor Speedway wrapped up the 2011 season by recognizing the top ten in each of the track’s divisions with special attention reserved for the 2011 champions. During the night’s events almost $34,000 in cash and prizes were awarded, of that almost $28,000 was in cash. This year’s championships saw two familiar faces and two drivers picking up career first championships. Scott Adams of Chester, VA was crowned the Victory Lap Late Model Champion for the second consecutive year and received a check for $5,000 for his efforts. Adams also received an invitation to the Rocket Chassis Race Wise Chassis School, a $500 certificate from the Joie of Seating, a custom calendar from Al Goulder Photography and his Championship helmet trophy and jacket. This year’s $25,000 to win Commonwealth 100 will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and will run April 13-14, 2012 with a Sunday April 15th rain date. The Ultimate Super Late Model Series is scheduled to return on Saturday May 19th for a $10,000 to win event and the 2012 season ender will be the 33rd Annual USA 100 that will now pay $20,000 to win an become a two day show September 14 – 15th, with a Sunday Sept. 16th rain date established. Record Crowd for 7th Annual Run A Muck Mud Bog And Mud Sling at The Pit

Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway hosted the 7th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River / Rappahannock Tractor, Virginia Army National Guard and in part by Davis Off Road, Monster Energy Drink, NAPA of King William, Truckin Thunder and ORI of Richmond this past Saturday October 1st to a record crowd. The event also boasted another large field of competitors featuring not only some of the areas top mud trucks in a very tough mud pit but also the very popular 1500 horsepower mud dragsters in the mud sling pit. If that wasn’t enough the fans were also treated to an awesome monster truck freestyle show by Equalizer and fans also witnessed the first performance of Dennis Anderson’s King Sling at a track other than Anderson’s own Muddy Motorsports Park. The cool temperatures and partly sunny skies provided a tremendous day for mud bogging. Overall 110 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 203 total passes. Winners in each class: Stock A – Neal McClanan in Never Enough; Stock B – Doyle Winn; Modified A – George Johnson in Gold Digger; Modified B – Ray Atkins in Haulin’ Gas; Modified C – George Johnson in Gold Digger; Pro Mod – Colt Shell in Big Bad Wolf; Unlimited Bog – Colt Shell in Big Bad Wolf; X Class – Chris Newton in Hostile Projectile; X Class Non-Blower – Chuck Brown in Mudaholic; XX Class – Chris Newton in Hostile Projectile; and XX Class Non-Blower – Travis Shoemaker in Highroller 4. Rain Forces Cancellation of Final Race of the Season

Jamaica, VA – Rain and the forecast for more thunderstorms has forced officials at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway to cancel Truckin Thunder / Collision One / WIGO Championship Night activities for Saturday, September 24th. “This is not the way we wanted to end the season, but we have run out of weekends for the 2011 season. To say we are disappointed would be an understatement, this is the second time we have had to cancel Championship Night,” commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer. With the rain out the 2011 Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series track championships have been decided. In the Victory Lap Late Model division Scott Adams of Chester, VA wins his second consecutive late model title. In the Truckin Thunder Sportsman division Todd Traylor of King William, VA wins his first title. In the Budweiser Modified division Dan Arnold of Petersburg, VA takes home his third consecutive modified title and in the Collision One Limited Stock Cars Wesley Givens of New Kent, VA will get his career first championship by one point. The top ten in each division will be honored at the 2011 Awards Banquet to be held Saturday October 29, 2011 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in Virginia Beach, VA. On Saturday October 1st The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway will host the 7th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by Rappahannock Tractor and the Virginia Army National Guard. There will be nine classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from stock to unlimited with cash payouts in all classes. New for this year’s event will be the addition of the Pro Modified class.
