Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway will once again host two spectacular mud bogs in 2016, the 9th Annual Down and Dirty Mud Mayhem on Saturday May 21st and the 12th Annual Down and Dirt Run-A-Muck Mud Bog on Saturday October 8th. Both events will be presented by James River Equipment and Commonwealth Motor Sports. Additional sponsorship provided by Aaron’s, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One and Truckin Thunder.

The 9th Annual Mud Mayhem gets a new date for 2016 – Saturday May 21st. With the area’s graduations scheduled for the middle of June it was determined that the event needed to be moved to accommodate fans, competitors and sponsors.

The 12th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud bog will continue on it’s familiar second Saturday of October with this year being October 8th. An October 15th rain date has been established for the event.

With both mud bogs fans will get to see hordes of trucks splashing through the state-of-the-art 200 foot Mud Bog pit as well as some of the region’s best Mud Dragsters covering the 200 foot Mud Sling pit in under three seconds.

During both events gates will open at 9am with the mud bog officially starting at 12 noon.

The Pit at VMS is located on the grounds of Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway and is situated on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA. The Speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland and the Hampton Roads area.
